Technology, culture and art have smashed together, converging into what has recently been described as The Big Flat Now. In this current iteration of space and time, the boundaries between all things are shattered. Matter, both physical and digital are the building blocks from which we sculpt and mould new worlds. To reflect this expression, International Magic engineered a complete digital design system for the renowned magazine and apparel brand 032c. The result is a raw, well considered brutalist platform with a highly flexible and recognisable visual aesthetic. How do movements, concepts and ideologies from the physical and virtual environments influence the thinking and role of designers operating in digital spaces today? Adam and Stefan explore the convergence of these ecosystems in this talk. Adam Rodgers and Stefan Endress are the founders of International Magic, an experience design studio that plays with new technologies and socio-cultural cues to create high performing experiences for the digital and physical worlds. Clients and collaborators include FKA twigs, Management + Artists, Manchester International Festival. 032c, Somerset House & Yeezy.
