POR // Demasiada formación, muy poca tecnología: definición de desafíos de diseño significativos para la próxima década

En los últimos 20 años, el campo del diseño centrado en el usuario y de la experiencia del usuario ha madurado a un ritmo asombroso y se ha desarrollado hasta volverse extremadamente eficaz para resolver desafíos de diseño táctico, sin importar la escala y la naturaleza conectada de los problemas que nosotros, como humanidad, enfrentamos a diario nos ruega que intensifiquemos nuestro juego como profesionales creativos y mejoremos en la identificación, articulación y alineación de los “buenos desafíos” con las necesidades organizacionales. Me gustaría compartir cómo en Volvo Cars hemos establecido objetivos de sostenibilidad y productos muy ambiciosos como empresa para sumergirnos en los desafíos del diseño y la formulación de problemas estratégicos.

Jorge Furuya

Head of Car User Experience Design, Volvo Cars

Jorge Furuya is the Head of Car User Experience Design at Volvo Cars, where he leads a team that defines the evolution of personal transportation, with a strong emphasis on safety, sustainability, and delight for people. He was born in Mexico City to a multicultural family of immigrants. Previously, he has occupied design leadership positions at Amazon in the Alexa team, and at Samsung Research America. He was part of the Android design team that first crafted material design and Android Automotive. Before that, he designed mobile experiences for HTC and Sony Ericsson during the late 2000s. Jorge is happier when working on projects that transcend hardware and software, but rather focus on understanding people’s needs and desires. He believes in integrating technology into products, but in a way that empowers their users, and becomes invisible yet delightful.
